A roof replacement is a major expense, but cash on hand isn't the only way to cover it. Homeowners in Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough Counties generally have two paths: monthly payment financing, or a government or nonprofit assistance program if they qualify. Here's how each one actually works.
Florida homeowners typically pay for a new roof one of two ways: monthly payment financing arranged through the roofing contractor, or a homeowner assistance program such as My Safe Florida Home or a county housing rehabilitation program. Financing is available to most homeowners regardless of income; assistance programs are grants or forgivable loans with income and eligibility limits, applied for directly with the issuing agency.
Program details verified June 2026. My Safe Florida Home is funded at $352 million for the 2025–2026 cycle with additional funding proposed for 2026–2027. Pinellas County's Homeowner Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Program and Sunrise St. Pete are both active but continue rolling out components through 2026. Funding levels, income limits, and application windows change every fiscal year — always confirm current status directly with the program before applying.
It's worth understanding the difference before you start — they work very differently and you may be able to use both.
Monthly payments, arranged through us. No income cap, no county restrictions, and approval is based on your credit, not how long a roofing company has been in business. You apply in minutes and know your options same-day. This is the path for most homeowners, regardless of whether you qualify for assistance.
Grants and forgivable loans, applied for directly with the agency. These programs have income limits, geographic restrictions, and application windows. Most reimburse you after the work is done rather than paying upfront. We can tell you what exists and do the qualifying work — but you apply, not us.
Next Level Roofing offers financing through Wisetack, a payment platform built for home service businesses.
Instead of paying the full project cost upfront, you make fixed monthly payments over a term that fits your budget. Checking your eligibility uses a soft credit pull and does not affect your credit score — you'll see your approved amount and monthly payment options before committing to anything.
Financing is available regardless of your income level or where you live within our service area, and approval is based on your personal credit profile — not on how long Next Level Roofing has been in business.
One limit worth knowing up front: Wisetack financing covers project costs up to $25,000. For larger full-replacement projects — common with tile roofs or bigger homes — you may need to combine financing with a down payment or another funding source.
Financing is provided by Wisetack's lending partners and is subject to credit approval. Rates and terms vary by applicant. Ask us for current details when you request your estimate.
If you meet the income or damage criteria, these programs can significantly reduce — or in some cases eliminate — your out-of-pocket cost. Eligibility and funding change each cycle, so confirm current status directly with each program.
A state matching grant for hurricane-hardening improvements, including roof upgrades. Moderate-income homeowners get a 2:1 match (state contributes $2 for every $1 spent); low-income homeowners may qualify for the full $10,000 with no match required.
Requires a homestead exemption and insured value under $700,000. This is a reimbursement program — funds are paid out after work is completed and inspected, not upfront. Never start work before receiving written approval.
